In the winter of 2020, I, Matteo Merla, ventured to Canada with a dream in my heart and a recipe for craft gin in hand. Little did I know that this journey would not only introduce our exquisite gin to Canadian shores but also lead me to the love of my life.
Upon my arrival, I was swept up in the fervor surrounding gin in Canada, igniting within me the desire to establish Matilda Sword Distillers Inc. However, amidst the hustle and bustle of entrepreneurial pursuits, fate intervened in the form of a chance encounter with Amy – a serendipitous moment that would forever change my life.
Amy and I shared a connection unlike any other, and together, we envisioned a future brimming with endless possibilities for our company. Fuelled by our passion for each other and our craft, we embarked on a journey hand in hand, exploring the boundless potential of gin in the Canadian market.
As our love blossomed, so too did our commitment to Matilda Sword Distillers Inc. In the summer of 2022, surrounded by the ones we hold dear, Amy and I exchanged vows, sealing our love and dedication to one another.
With hearts full of love and ambition, we poured our time and energy into crafting unique flavors and vibrant hues, eager to share our creations with the world. The overwhelming support and praise from our cherished family and friends only fueled our determination to turn our dreams into reality.
Together, Amy and I discovered an exceptional distillery partner who shared our vision and was ready to bring our aspirations to fruition. It was a moment of pure joy and excitement as we realized that our dream was finally coming true.
